From: OHBTC Board
To: All club members
We hope everyone in the club is doing well.
In March, the club announced that all OHBTC activities would be cancelled until further notice because of the covid-19 pandemic. Because the club went into a “pause” mode, memberships were extended three months. The Patuxent River Rural Legacy Ride was cancelled and refunds sent to registered riders.
On June 3, the OHBTC board and ride coordinators held a virtual meeting via Zoom and agreed that the club should stay in the “pause” mode throughout the summer. Club memberships will be extended another three months. The board will meet in September to discuss resuming club activities.
We will miss the Patuxent River Rural Legacy Ride, the Watermelon Ride, the Picnic and the Indian Head 100 this year. These events have been enjoyed by many cyclists over the years, thanks to the club’s wonderful volunteers. We appreciate the dedication of club volunteers who have made these events successful.
We look forward to being able to have club activities again without the risk of spreading the coronavirus. Until then, we encourage club members to enjoy riding their bikes solo or with family members or close friends. Many club members are posting their individual cycling activities to https://www.strava.com/clubs/ohbike.
The board referred to several resources in making its decision.
Stay healthy and safe,
