Annual Christmas & Holiday Walk 3 mi

Sat, December 30, 2017 12:06 PM | Polly Choate

Not sure but I believe Temps in the 20s to start. 18 very hardy souls met up at Mr Henry's on Capitol Hill for a brisk walk down Pennsylvania Ave to the Botanical Gardens.  There we warmed up while enjoying the minature trains and Road Trip USA display, unique places one would see on an off the beaten track road trip, all made of natural materials. And enjoyed the poinsettias and other flora. Then we walked to the Capitol Tree in front of the US Capitol, very pretty, but debated whether it was a full tree or just live branches made in the shape of a tree. By this time everyone was getting pretty cold so we headed back to Mr Henry's for dinner and libations.

Leader:Polly Choate. Members: Leslie Tiersten, Jane & Jim Hudnall, Joan Oppel, Belinda Acre, Harry Kidd, Monica Irmler and 4 of her Family; and Guests: Christina Campbell, Roslyn Rubin, Walter & Anne Schwermer, Nancy & Steve McGuire.  Several OH folks opted out of the walk due to the freezing temps, very understandable.

Happy New Year!
