It's been a tough January so far.  This was the first OHBike ride this year that didn't get canceled because of weather.  Hard on the heels of a near-record cold spell, today brought a welcome relief.  It also brought an appreciation for many of just how much of a toll this season's weather has taken on our fitness.

We took it easy today, staying together as a group until the final few miles.  We made no effort to avoid elevation gain, climbing up from the Pavilion at Patuxent River Park (with its flooded rest rooms -- burst pipe, perhaps) on Croom Airport, Duvall and Mount Calvert and south on Fenno up the rise to the Merkle Entrance Road.
