Route: Bryan's Road to Ironside. 31.3 miles, 1238 ft.  https://ridewithgps.com/trips/29841902

    Mechanical Issues: None

Mishaps: Two riders touched wheels and fell while riding uphill on Mason Springs. Some soreness,  but both riders were able to ride back with the group.

Weather: 43-45 degrees, sunny and windy (15+ mph from the WNW)

Member Riders: Barb Haney, Ron Haney, Darrell Meyer, Tom Roberts.

    Ride Report:

The sun was out, but so were the winds, making for an uncomfortably cold start. Riding at effort with the group let us warm up a bit.  Along the way, we encountered mostly cross winds. But the wind was high and unpredictable -- at times swirling and quickly changing directions.

The five of us stayed together for the first 12 miles, until Darrell dropped back. At mile 15, the four leaders agreed it was a good idea to cut the ride short and minimize our time in the wind. We turned left off Chicamuxen onto Rte. 6 then back onto the route at Mason Springs --cutting  8 miles and skipping the rest stop.  Darrell was heartier, and proceeded solo to the rest stop then completing the full 39 mile course.

Thanks to all who came out today and braved today's winter-like conditions, and to Joan for the route.
