Leader: Joan Oppel

Members: Ron Altemus, Alan Kurzweil, Steve Palincsar and Larry Peed

Route: To Hughesville

Weather: First, to anyone reading this: the North Keys parking lot is probably the worst ride start parking lot from which to judge weather conditions for a ride. It's always windy and chilly (or cold) there.

Nice and sunny. The sun made it seem warmer than it was once we started. Temperatures about 36 at the start and rising a couple of degrees. The wind was noticeable at times, 10-12 mph but only in short stretches. And as long as we headed south, southeast, the wind was hardly a problem.

Distance: 38

AMS: We all rode within sight of each other.

Mishaps/Mechanicals: None

Report: At about mile 10, both Larry and Steve said they would shorten the ride. Larry had a knee issue and turned back at mile 9; Steve left us at the Moreland Store at mile 10. Alan, Ron and I rode on, stopping briefly at the Sunoco in Hughesville, and then pacing back along Burnt Store and Olivers Shop to Woodville for the second time. A proposal was made to eliminate Covington so we cut a couple of miles out there. It was a good day for a ride.
