3/30 - HAM AND CHEESE HOLD THE MAYO - A - 60 miles

Sat, March 30, 2019 10:00 AM | Susan Henn

Leader: Eric Nielsen

Members: Brad Francisco, Matthew Lewandowski

Guests: Jeanne and Randolph H., Jim K., David S., Jenniffer B., Joe S., Scott B.

Conditions were sunny and breezy, with temperatures in the 70s except in the upper 50s near the Chesapeake Bay because winds were onshore. We broke into groups heading to the lunch stop, which was at Scorpion Brewing at the 45-mile mark. The leader purchased five 12-inch submarine sandwiches at Bowen's Grocery seven miles earlier and we carried them in our jersey pockets to the brewery. Member Sue Henn rode from home to meet us at Scorpion. We bicycled the last 15 miles leisurely together, except for the two AAs who pressed ahead as expected, which is quite acceptable. Matthew punctured late in the ride.

Enjoying our lunch of sandwiches and pints at Scorpion Brewery. L to R: Jeanne H., Brad Francisco, Scott B., and Jim K.

Sorry I missed your ride, Eric. Looks like a good one, with all the necessary elements. Thanks for leading.

Now this was a good ride with a real rest stop that included real food, drink, and good company. Sorry I missed it.
