I had an excellent turnout for today’s ride. It must be the nice weather!
The trip down to Cobb Island was enjoyable but there isn’t much to report. The wind was mostly against us heading toward Cobb Island which was preferable. As usual, we opted to forgo the “tour” of the island.
We took a very short break on Cobb Island and a longer break at the first store heading back. Just before the break at the store Brad ran over something metal (guesses include a saw blade and a hubcap) that made quite a racket – no harm was done.
I’m going to count the ride a success in the Training category. We all stayed together and worked together and held up for trailing riders up until Fairground Rd. After that some of the “friskier” riders broke away until the end. The split was never very much and the trailing riders were always in sight of the lead group. The average for the ride is for the lead group but the trailing riders’ average was still comfortably over 20.
It was a fun ride. Thanks for joining me ladies and gentlemen.
