Report: Today was a glorious summer day for bicycling. I rode solo on super-nice roads to the Ruddy Duck Seafood and Alehouse on St. George's Island for a light lunch.  While seated and sipping a pint, the final 10km of the Tour were on the television, and I watched Thomas De Gendt win today's stage with a successful breakaway. The ride to lunch was a joy, aided by a light tailwind. The return half was again on great roads. The sections heading west were pedaled into about 7 miles/hour of headwind, which became a nuisance only in the closing few miles.

Above: At the Ruddy Duck, Eric enjoys a pint of imperial IPA and pretzels, the latter served with a coarse-ground mustard infused with, among other things, beer. The combination was sufficient to power him back to the ride start, bypassing rest stops.
