Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/30794662, starting from Chaptico Park: a route created specially for the occasion* providing a shorter, C-paced companion to Debby's 50 mi CC and Walt's 58 mi B rides, both originating at Baggett Park. The plan was to meet up at 7th District Park
and to ride together, more or less, to Colton Point, Avenue and Bushwood Wharf. At this, we were completely successful. We turned from Hurry onto Colton Point Rd just as Walt's group was passing and rode with them to the park. By the time we arrived at the rest area, Debby's group rolled up. We skipped Abbel and Hatchet Thicket and went down to Dukehart's Creek at the end of Beach Rd. and took some pictures.
All groups got together at the Potomac River Museum at Colton Point, then had a rest stop at Murphy's Store. Many of us regrouped again at Bushwood Wharf, and (thanks to us taking a shorter route on Maddox while Debby's group went up Bushwood to Hurry) gathered again for ice cream at Chaptico.
Weather: could hardly have been better. A chilly 69 at the start (I was freezing until we got to Chaptico) rising to the mid 80s, sunny, breezy and not too humid.
Mishaps & mechanicals: none
*No "canned rides" here, regardless of what some folks might think
