The weather looked iffy but the forecast said only a 20% chance of rain; this may have decreased the participation this week. It never rained nor were the roads wet.
Lynne came back to the ride after being away for while with a new bike and fresh off winning a time trial. She likes the new bike!
Unlike last week, the ride started at a more or less reasonable pace. We dropped two riders at the hill on Route 6 but following that, the pack stayed together until the end.
I could see the two trailing riders on Budd’s Creek Road and they appeared to be gaining. Once the lead group hit the hill, the trailing riders disappeared from view. It may not have been the hill however, once we reached Route 301 the pace of the lead group accelerated. The high tempo pace continued until the end.
The trailing two riders came in in short order following the lead group. They were moving right along as well.
It was another good ride.
