Leader: Eric Nielsen
Guests: Jenniffer B., David S.
Route: Easton, MD to Delmar, DE and return. RWGPS 26550658.
Weather: Light N and NE winds, partly to mostly cloudy, upper 70s F
AMS: 17.5 mph (estimated)
Report: A nearly perfect day for bicycling on the Eastern Shore. On the ride to Delmar, winds were from the north and mostly at our backs. So the first 50 miles were finished at 18.3 mph. In Delmar, we procured sub sandwiches for lunch and carried them in our jersey pockets the half-mile to 3rd Wave Brewing, where we eagerly consumed them along with pints of double IPA and stout. While rehydrating, winds veered to the NE and E and lessened, which gave us tailwinds (again!) on the westward-heading sections as we bicycled back to our automobiles. Eric and David rode fixed-gears. The elements combined to remind the leader that there are certain days on the Eastern Shore when spinning a fixee verges on transcendental.

From L to R: Jenniffer B., Eric Nielsen, and David S. enjoy lunch at 3rd Wave Brewing in Delmar, DE.
