Weather: Bright sunshine, temperatures in the 70's, light breeze - a perfect day!
Report: This preview of the Indian Head 40 route made it possible to solve problems before the ride on September 2. There was a missed turn on the GPS cue sheet and the water spigot at the Smallwood Pavillion was not working. This was a casual tour with lots of stops. At Smallwood, after checking out the picnic pavillion, we visited the Mattawoman Creek Art Center to see an exhibition of photographs. Jim and Ron stopped to mark the green route short-cut on Sweatman Road and Bicknell Road between Chicamuxen Road and Pisgah. While others waited for him at the Pisgah Store, we visited with John Gorman and his group of riders who had started earlier at McDonough High School and visited Mallows Bay. After Rose Hill, we took a break at the Thomas Stone Historic Site and then headed back to Indian Head.
