Ride leader: Steve Palincsar

Members: Barbara Haney, Linda Blackman, Jay Lewis, Alan Kurzweil, Marc Blackman, Jim Hudnall, Jane Hundnall, Wayne Hunt, Gerry Iacouzze

Weather: This was that perfect day you were waiting for all summer: sunny, pleasant humidity, 70 at the start rising to perhaps 81, breezy.

Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31018798   42 miles, 1870' elevation.  We took Southern Maryland Blvd (newly repaved since I've last ridden it, so not a single pothole!) to Bay Front, then McKendree to Jewell, Wilson & Sansbury to a rest stop at the Dash-In in Friendship.  From there, Friendship, Boyd's Turn and Chesapeake Beach Rd took us to Harrison Blvd and the scenic Chesapeake Beach Railway Trail into Chesapeake Beach.

We stopped briefly at North Beach (well, after all, why wouldn't you?) before taking a full rest stop at the Chesapeake Market.  From there we went up Leitch and then went left on Franklin Gibson over to Fairhaven and a thoroughly delightful mile-long stretch on Old Solomons Island Rd before taking MD-2 to Bay Front, Brooks Woods and Greenock to Lothian, where we crossed over MD-4, taking the service road back to the Park & Ride.

Mishaps & mechanicals: none, other than a couple of riders missing a turn.

AMS: 10.6 at the back, significantly higher up front.

A thoroughly delightful day, and an opportunity to introduce Marc and Linda to the Western Shore as well as introducing several to the Railway Trail.

Jim posted some photos on Facebook.
