It was sunny in the morning, it was sunny in the afternoon, it was sunny on my drive home from work, it was cloudy on my ride to the start, it was stormy looking at the ride start.
We all milled-about looking at clouds and phones trying to decide what the weather was going to do. Douglas never left his truck and decided to bag the ride. The rest of us decided to do a short route suggested by Brad. (St. Mary’s Ave, left on Spring Hill-Newtown Rd, right on Bel Alton Newton Rd, right on Fairground Rd, right on US 301, right on St. Mary’s Ave to the end)
We followed the new route with the weather looking more or less threatening the whole time but never a raindrop. The riders stayed together except for a break-up on the “Beast of Bel Alton”; the breaks were closed before Fairground Rd.
We all headed for home worried about the impending storms but they never materialized – at least not in La Plata.
