A beautiful day, more typical of late August than the end of September, and a route that took us through the Loveville Mennonite area to the Leonardtown Riverfront Park at the Leonardtown Wharf, then down MD-5 to Fairgrounds and MD-4 to Brown Rd and a lunch stop at McKays before heading north on Hollywood and Old Hollywood, where Patricia found the donkeys a bit up Wit N Folly Way. The donkeys, distilled essences of cuteness with big ears, were as much taken with us as we were with them.
Crossing Three Notch Highway onto Sotterley Road, we went past the entrance to Sotterley Plantation before heading back on Vista Rd to a short stretch on the Three Notch Highway shoulder and a scenic and pleasant jaunt down to the Patuxent on Sandgates.
In all, a delightful journey to the far southern reaches of our riding area and a chance to ride seldom-used but delightful roads, with a very congenial group.
