Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31278669 37 mi, 1690' elevation. A route to stitch together many of our favorite roads, with a new twist. Most of us have done the Rt 4 service road - Pindells countless times, always crossing Rt 4 at Fishers Station. Not today. Today after doing the service road and the Pindells, when we came to the Rt 4 crossing, we went left on Southern Maryland Boulevard, taking it up to Wrighton. The road has been recently repaved, and is nothing like the rough, bumpy, badly eroded ancient concrete road you may remember from the distant past (back when the End Hunger Ride was briefly on it).
From Wrighton, we got onto Bay Front and took it to MD-2 up to the charming and exciting Old Ridge Path Lane / Nutwell connection to Nutwell Sudley, then crossed Bay Front on Franklin Gibson, going left on Deale Rd, ending up after the thrilling descent and the trip over the bridge at South County Cafe for lunch, where Sue Henn briefly joined us.
After lunch we took Swamp Circle to Sudley and Owensville Sudley, when contrary to all weather forecasts, it began to drizzle. We waited for it to stop at the Harwood Market. It started again on Sands, remaining a light drizzle all the way back to Waysons.
Weather: Overcast, occasionally sunny, drizzle late in the ride, with temperatures in the low to mid-60s.
Mishaps and mechanicals: none
AMS: 11.4 at the back.
