Leader: Ron Altemus
Members: CC Core Contingent: Pat Walters, Steve Palincsar, Joan Oppel; Friends: Kirk Saunders, Jay Lewis, Larry Peed, Donaro Gardner, Lou Dall'Orso
Route: BR 37 Mathews, Fenwick, River, et al 36.8 miles, 976' elevation change. A brief exploration of the subdivision behind Bryan's Road shopping center, then down Marshall Hall Road to explore Fenwick and River prior to a rest stop at Marshall Hall Landing. Next up Barry's Hill, a quick Accokeek meander, Menk, Manning, Berry, and Bensville to the IHRT. Bumpy Oak and Livingston for the final leg.
Weather: pretty darn nice. Brilliant sunshine and blue sky, temps ranging from the upper 50s to mid 60s, 8-10 mph breezes out of the western quadrant.
AMS: swept in the low 11s. Friends were much faster.
Mechanicals/Mishaps: none known or reported
Report: There are quite a few houses in the Bryan's Road area, both single family and town homes, and plenty more being built off of Marshall Hall Road before it descends down to the river. But Fenwick Rd and River Rd are still sparsely populated, each with unique water views of the Potomac River. We rode together for the quick jog behind the shopping center and then the friends were off at a higher rate of speed, only being seen again coming back on Fenwick as the core contingent started down it.
