Route: BR 39 St Ignatius cw 38.8 miles, 1538' elevation change. Pomfret, Marshall Corner, Hawthorne, Quailwood and MD-6 to a rest stop at the Dash-in. Second leg traversed Glen Albin, Springhill Newtown, Bel Alton Newtown, and the desired Chapel Point Rd. Final leg via Rose Hill, Hawthorne, and MD-210.
Weather: Mostly sunny, temps ranging from the mid 40s to mid 50s. Pete' description is best "Breezy and damp at times, warmish at others."
AMS: mid 12s at the rear
Mechanicals/Mishaps: none reported or aware of
Report: The "friends" took off at a friends pace and disappeared from sight before the CC'ers core contingent reached Pomfret. We saw most of them at the La Plata rest stop before they took off again. Jim and Jay slowed their pace a bit and rode in sight of Joan and your faithful correspondent for the remainder of the ride; Steve shortened his route by turning right on Springhill Newtown and using Locust Grove to Chapel Point Rd. Traversing Chapel Point Rd going north/west is rare and we were afforded some nice views of the Port Tobacco River and the marina.
