Report: The weather was predicted to be balmy with temps in the high 60s to low 70s. However while the temps were fine, the overcast skies, wet roads, and breezy to windy conditions made it feel cooler. This was a mixed group with some riders that could easily exceed the advertised pace, some that were comfortable with the pace, and others who were more comfortable at the lower end. Predictably the group split up on the first climb which was shortly after the ride start. At times the wind really made it difficult and Janelle opted to take a short cut, arriving at the rest stop before the rest of the group. There was some regrouping when one of the faster riders flatted allowing those of us behind to catch up. More climbing separated us but we again regrouped at the rest stop. Not only had Janelle come and gone but so had Lou. There was one more flat tire on the ride after the rest stop which was repaired and the ride resumed. There were no more issues and those of us at the back of the ride returned to the start location, put away our bikes and enjoyed drinks, snacks, and conversation at the local Starbucks.
