Sun, January 26, 2020 11:00 AM | Stephen Palincsar (Administrator)

Ride leader: Steve Palincsar

Members: Alan Kurzweil, Janell Saunders, Ron Altemus, Debby Bowman, Pat Walthers, Sarah Clement, Lou Dallorso

Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/5580959  30 mi, 1400' elevation.  The route took Martin to Molly Berry and Molly Berry north to Croom (losing Lou and Janell, who turned left onto North Keys in the process, Lou permanently), Mattaponi to St Thomas Church back to Croom, then down Mt Calvert to a stop at the historic house.  Retracing on Mt Calvert (with a slight exploration by Alan and Janell  up McClure -- which I think has been closed for probably the last 25 or 30 years) we took Duvall to Croom Airport down to the Pavilion for a rest stop.  Retracing on Croom Airport after the break, we took Croom to Duley Station and down Van Brady to Molly Berry, North Keys and back to the park.

Weather: 40s and breezy: 46-47, 8-10 mph wind.  The sky was clear when we reached Mt Calvert (the view of the Patuxent was beautiful) but clouded up as the afternoon wore on.

Mishaps & mechanicals: none

AMS: 11 mph

I somehow found my way back to Croom. and since I know how to get back to Waldorf from there, I just ended up doing roller efforts, and power spinning home. Sorry, was looking forward to Van Brady, I like that road.

We missed you, Lou. But we were all certain that you'd be all right, so no "Where are you?" phone call.
