Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31850399 34 miles, 1170' elevation gain An exceptionally scenic ride through Amish farm country in St Marys and Charles Counties.
Weather: Partly cloudy, 50s at the start rising to the mid-60s - a lovely very very early spring day.
Mishaps & mechanicals: none, everything went swimmingly.
You can't beat sunny and the low 60s in early February, and it was lovely
out there in the sunshine. It was washing day in the Amish lands, and we passed the Amish school on Woodburn Hill during recess. There appeared to be a number of lively games in progress, the kids having a great time.
We saw farm animals galore: horses, cows including one napping on Ryceville, llamas, donkeys, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs, one orange tabby cat, bald eagles, vultures and a variety of Miscellaneous birds.
And, chickens!! Chickens are important because at the end of the road is a large sign for Woodburn Hill Farm making it clear that there are Sin Pollos -- i.e., "No Chickens."
