Report: Wonderful day for a ride. A little chilly at the start which led to a discussion on what kind of gloves to wear. Blake went with thin full fingered gloves and the ride leader chose summer gloves. Both decisions proved to be the right ones.
We saw a group of cyclists going the other way on Colton Point Rd. and waves were exchanged. Other than some people on the trail we did not see many others riding/walking/running on this fine day.
After departing Chaptico Market the ride leader's front tire started spraying tire sealant. We stopped for almost a minute with the punctured area facing down to ensure the sealant would reach the hole. It did and the leak stopped. We rode on. Three times it started leaking again before resealing (no need to stop). The last 10 miles were leak free. So do you call this a mechanical if it fixed itself? At the end of the ride the tubeless tire was inspected and it is clear that something sliced the tire. Good thing that there are plenty of spares in the basement. But if it isn't leaking, why replace it.
Blake, thank you for joining me today.
