Leaders:  Jim and Jane Hudnall

Members:  Anne Wittenberg, Fred Robbins, Patricia Walthers
Randy and Jackie Schoch started from the IHRT Parking Lot on Livingston Road and met us in Welcome. This was a ride to a rest stop at Scott's Store in Welcome, MD. It was also an opportunity to welcome new member Anne Wittenberg into the club.  Anne lives in Arlington and is president of Babes on Bikes.

Route: The planned route was BR 37 Welcome (https://ridewithgps.com/routes/34613007).  It was such a nice day, we decided to have a quick stop at Scott's Store in Welcome and go into Smallwood State Park for a longer stop. The extra distance in the park gave us 39.6 miles.

Weather:  Almost perfect with temperatures in the low 70's.

AMS:  12.9 mph

Mechanicals/Mishaps:  none

Report:  The night before the ride, we were told that riders a few months ago had found the the restaurant and rest room at Scott's closed. To take no chances, we took a "nature stop" at the porta potty next to the IHRT Parking Lot on Livingston Road. At Scott's Store, we met up with Jackie and Randy. The restaurant was open for take away, and the restroom was accessible ("We are now open 7 days a week from 7 am to 4 pm.")

With the sun getting hotter and no shade or chairs/benches at Scott's, we decided that the marina in Smallwood State Park would be a nicer place for a rest stop, so we pushed on for 10 more miles, enjoying Durham Church Road and Smallwood Church Road.

We had a pleasant rest stop with a view, shade, and chairs and benches. The indoor rest rooms in the concession building were locked, but a porta potty was nearby.
