Members:  Barry Winkelman, Linda Bankerd, Sam Perry, Lou Dall'Orso, Chantal Briere, Bob Thompson

Weather:  Perfect!  Clear sky, low wind, 75 degrees at end of ride

AMS:  14.9 mph

Distance / Elevation Gain:  36.7 miles / 1700 feet of climbing

Mechanicals:   GARMIN GPS ALERT!!!!! Chantal's Garmin 1000 melted where the charging cord attaches to the Garmin's charging port.  The USB charging cord was attached to the USB port on Chantal's computer nevertheless the heat at the Garmin's port was sufficient to melt the Garmin 1000.  Garmin told Chantal that it will replace her GPS.   If any of you have knowledge of other Garmin meltdowns or their cause please let the other club members know. In the meantime please do not place your Garmin on a flammable surface while it is charging.

Report:  This was a preview ride for the Patuxent River Rural Legacy ride on Saturday, June 9.  The CC riders were sweeping the route on the lookout to mark potholes or other potentially harmful conditions.  Based on our experience the route is nice, scenic and has a low volume of vehicle traffic. We all enjoyed the ride.
