Great afternoon to ride, as the coin-flip of predicted thundershowers never materialized, and the cloud cover helped keep the ride feeling more like coastal Texas rather than Key West. At the start, quick emphasis on bike handling and myths, with a skills practice of looking 10-15m in front to spot a 4" area to ride over...the more you do this, and link the spots, the better you will ride straight, predictable and it's the starting point for ALL bike handling skills. Since we don't have a Velodrome for the paint stripes, the streets will have to do. Look for dots on the bike lanes for practice, they'll be showing up, and are part of the "Corsa Coniglio" and "3-Bump Chump" routes started 2 years ago. Great to see Walt rolling, Troy sporting a sweet new ride, Matt and Denise joining me with aerobars (hint: after 50+k miles, have never crashed with aerobar use), and J2 rounding out a great ride. A piu tarde! Ciao, ciao Michele
