Oct 30 Southern Exposure: Ghost ride CC & friends

Tue, October 30, 2018 10:00 AM | Joan Oppel (Administrator)

Leader: Joan Oppel

Members: Randy Schoch, Jackie Schoch, Larry Peed, Alan Kurzweil, Tom Short, Sam Perry, Steve Palincsar, Don Gardner, Jay Lewis, Ron Altemus, Patricia Sanders, Dick Patton, George Chiamulara

Route: Searching for ghosts at Marshall Hall, Colonial Farm and roundabout Charles County

Weather: Cool but pleasant - mid 50s

AMS: As needed

Mechanicals/Mishaps: A rider (Dick) fell climbing too slowly up Bryans Point Road from the Colonial Farm. George and Ron took care of getting him out of the road and leaning on the road barrier. I called 911 to get EMS care. Dick was conscious, lucid but in pain and was taken to the hospital. Randy and Jackie stayed as well to offer help if needed.

Report: We had quite a large group today, which split up after we left Marshall Hall. After the accident, George and Ron arranged the logistics of getting all bikes and cars to the right places. After seeing Dick off, I called other riders and found some were waiting for us. Arriving at the store, only  Steve and Alan were waiting and we rode a further piece of the original ride and then cut the rest short. All other cars were gone when we returned to the parking lot so that was a good sign.
