Ride leader: Steve Palincsar

Members: Debby Bowman, Jackie & Randy Schoch, Patricia Sanders, Ron Altemus, Kevin & Noel Foley and joining us en route, Sarah Clement

Weather: Sunny, 55, windy.

Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/29118777  35 mi, 850' of elevation gain.  We started from Chaptico Park and went up Hurry to Manor, then down to Maddox and a stop at Old Chaptico Wharf, where we waited for Sarah (who'd arrived at the park as we were leaving) to join.  We continued on Maddox to Bushwood and a rest stop at Quade's store, then headed

towards Avenue, making a detour on MD-520, Oscar Hayden and Monfort Rd where we stopped to enjoy the view at the end of the pavement at White's Neck Creek, before arriving at Murphy's Store for another break.  The route continued on Oakley, Sugar Hole and Colton Point Rd to Hurry, fighting the wind all the way back to Chaptico and the Park.

Mishaps & mechanicals: none, other than Randy & Jackie missing a turn and making an unintentional shortcut.

AMS: 11.3 and up

Guess I forgot to sign the disclaimer today. Great ride except for that wind on Hurry Road, saved the hardest part for the end, but the fried chicken at the Chaptico Market makes up for it.

Great route, very scenic. Chaptico Park is a bit of a drive for some of us but it was well worth it. Thanks Steve!

A bit of a drive for me, too! The trouble is, there's no way to get to Avenue and back in only 35 miles without starting pretty far south.
