This ride was a companion to Debby's 37 mile route, with a couple of short cuts to bring the mileage down to 31 miles.  The plan was to ride with the CC group as much as possible, and at this we were quite successful, rejoining Debby's group in the middle of the pack on Fairhaven and arriving at the rest stop at the Chesapeake Market at the same time as the faster group.  Sarah joined us for the shorter second half - not sure if this is because she missed the turn on Fishers Station or by design, but we were glad to see her.  We arrived back at Waysons in the middle of the pack, after the lead element but before the last group.

The short cut before the break explored some new territory on Old Solomons Island Rd before the turn onto Fairhaven, and this was perhaps the first time in this direction on Fairhaven north of Town Point, which was fun.  A future iteration of this route might include turning onto Franklin Gibson and Leitch, while still using the MD-2/Old Solomons Island Rd approach to Fairhaven Rd as an alternative to climbing up Franklin Gibson south of Trotts Branch.
